Being Stood Up

I had a wonderful date with a friend at work. He continued to ask me out afterwards, but then began to stand me up. He would call occasionally and come by just to talk. A month and a half later, he asked me out for the fifth time and stood me up again without a call. He wrote an e-mail apology that he was working and he really had a female friend come in from out of town. I wrote an angry e-mail and then pulled back by calling and telling him that I felt hurt by his actions. What should I do?

For my dating friends I say, "What you see is what you get." If he's doing this to you now, he would probably do it after you get married. If you don't like his dating-friendship behavior, then maybe you should remain friends. If you want to remain on a friendship basis with him, he sounds like a nice guy. Just don't count on him for something important. Like your life.
